Biography Corne van Dooren

I was born Autumn 1979 in Hooge Mierde, a small village in the south of the Netherlands. I am a time-served Interactive Multimedia Designer and Developer. I started out as a cartoonist, but discovered the infinite world of multimedia at the age of 17 - a journey of discovery that hasn't stopped since.

I spend most of my time with most of the well-known packages from Adobe (and the former Macromedia), for both online and offline use. Alongside these, there are many other visualisation packages on my desktop too, as well as my mantra: "the only limit to (multimedia) communication is the imagination."

After enjoying my share of success over the past years - working for many international clients, as well as featuring in multimedia magazines, testing software and working on many books - I took another step in my career by launching my very own communications agency "Project 79" in March 2005.

My own company has been a big success in its first years, securing work for Philips, Warner Brothers, Talpa Media and others. I have also been asked to act as consultant and author/tutor for a Dutch educational institution.

Passions and Motivations

Obviously I have a passion for design and communications. Although you'd expect me to prefer modern design I actually like all kind of designs. Its just amazing to see what some creative soul has come up with, be it on a computer or without one.

I am also a very big fan of movies. There's a whole range of titles I could sum up here... But in general I like movies with a surprise twist at the end (for example: The Usual Suspects, Fight Club, Lock Stock and American Beauty). And ofcourse I like the 3D animated pictures such as The Incredibles, as I like to work on 3D projects too.

Music is also an important element of my life. I enjoy listening to all kinds of music, ranging from pop to rock and more. There's really only one thing I don't like and that's talking - though I think its called rap / hiphop. I have to admit though, I do like some of the hiphop-tracks out there...

Speed is another important element. I like speed and I don't mean the drugs. I am talking about racing a car, karting and that kind of stuff. The adrenaline-rush is just brilliant. And slowly but surely I am getting over my fear for heights and starting to like rollercoasters.

There are more important passions and people in my life, but I'll spare you the list of names that will not mean anything to you. All I can say is that if I have a passion I will do everything to give it my best.
