Hot!

April 27, 2008

Pfew! Finally a few sunny days in The Netherlands. Thats both positive and negative. The positive side is that there's lots to be done outside of the house.

The negative side is that it gets incredibly hot in out appartment. We have the top appartment and the sun shines on the (flat) roof all day. So the temperature was really hot when we came home from shopping today.

There is another positive to that negative though (optimist that I am... LOL). At these times a refreshing drink is everything. So next to water, what refreshes best when its hot? Exactly: beer! Yeeha, I live the hot weather.

Too bad it ends tomorrow...

Take care and speak soon!

Busy day

April 25, 2008

Hello again. Today is a very busy day for me. It starts in the morning by going to Optical Express for the three-month check-up on my laser surgery.

I feel the laser eye surgery has helped. I still suffer from very dry eyes in heated environments and at night - but my vision has improved. So I don't expect anything bad from the checkup.

In the afternoon me and Nadine will travel to her parents. They will jet off on a trip to Indonesia later today (for three weeks!) and we will wave them goodbye. Three whole weeks... Damn, wish I'd have that luxury...

We've also got a big weekend ahead, with my parents celebrating their 53rd birthdays on Saturday. And ofcourse next week Nadine will turn 27! Damn, we are really all getting old...

Take care and speak soon.

Ladies & Gentlemen, Wii got it!

April 18, 2008

Yes! Today I managed to get my hands on the Mario Karts Game and Wheel for the Nintendo Wii! I am so thrilled I have a copy.

The Wii and most of the special games aren't easy to get. Last week the Mario Karts was released and I had been to about 10 shops. All the Mario Karts were sold out in less than a few hours!

Yesterday a new shipment of Mario Karts was delivered. So yesterday I went to the shops again. Within half an hour the new shipment was sold out!

So, this morning I started calling around to smaller shops in smaller cities/villages. And yes! I got my hands on the Mario Karts game for the Wii. Finally!

Amazing that Nintendo doesn't ship out more. For instance, a guy at one of the biggest shops told me that they only receive 12(!) Wii consoles a month. Thats only 144 a year! The demand is much higher. With every shipment they are sold out within hours.

Anyway, gotta go and play now. Play a little bit before the Wii Fitness is out... That's gonna be hard to get too...

Take care.

Three sweaters a week!

April 14, 2008

I now have proof that I have been working hard. I just threw away my third sweater of the past month or so. The tables at work must be really grudgy or something because its the third sweater with a hole at the elbow.

Never ever before have I had clothing issues when working behind a computer. But now I am going through sweaters as if it is nothing. I really just threw away my third sweater this month.

The strangest part is that I don't actually feel or notice it myself. Everytime I get home Nadine spots it. From now on I think I'll be wearing t-shirts to work...

Take care.

Sorry

April 13, 2008

Sorry for not posting stuff for some time. I have been extremely busy over the past two weeks and I just couldn't get round to writing something.

I was working on a quick project, but it didn't turn out to be a quick one. I am normally quite safe in guessing the amount of hours it takes to do something. For the first time in a very long time - I was wrong. The project took more hours than I calculated...

Ah well, no harm done. More time to work on other stuff again. I have got quite a few projects lined up, so I've got my work cut out for me.

This weekend has been good to me though. I got some time to relax and that was just what I needed. I am fully charged again to kick some ass... Or well, get lots of stuff done.

Take care and speak soon.

Busy as ever

April 4, 2008

Pfew, what a week I have had and what a weekend to follow... I have been working very hard the past weeks, even doing overtime and work at home.

Because I took on a job late in the week on my own company I will also work this weekend. Its the first weekend I will ever work. I always promised Nadine that the weekend was ours and I would never work during the weekend for that reason.

I have, with Nadine's approval, taken on a job that has to be finished on Monday-morning. After several comment rounds I have to work all Saturday to get the work finished.

Because the past weeks have been really busy I think it may have been a wrong decision to also work in the weekend. That has nothing to do with the project, because its a nice project for good pay. Its just that its not easy on my mind and wrist. Yes, I am battling a bit of RSI I think.

Anyways, its my first project in the weekend and my last. I just can't do it anymore because of my own mindset and wrist-troubles.

Take care and enjoy your weekend! :)

April fool!

April 3, 2008

Just a quickie. I am very busy at the moment and my email is piling up. So to everyone that did or didn't get it: my previous post was an April Fool.

I have received many emails - thanks! People were asking whether it was real, whether I'd gone crazy, what the bleep was going on... Thanks for all the emails though, glad to find out people care so much. Much appreciated.

Oh yeah, the responses were about 50-50. Fifty percent got the joke and fifty percent didn't. The funniest reply came from a friend who knew it wasn't real. He replied that he was changing his life too and he had been selected to be the new Hugh Heffner. Now, how unbelievable is that?!

Anyway, thanks for the response and talk soon.

Change of life

April 1, 2008

Alright you faithful readers of the blog, I have a big message for you. I have decided to make a radical change in my life.

I have been spending quite some weeks thinking about this and have decided to push it through: I am to become a monk.

Over the past years I've started to really hate the world. The world we live in is feeded by money, war, crime and more unpleasant stuff. There is no balance in this world anymore. The rich get richer while the poor get poorer. Mostly because the people in charge are the wrong people to be in charge.

Anyways, the fact remains that I have enlisted in a convent to become a monk and leave all the worldly goods behind me. I think its a wise choice and am fully committed to leave it all behind.

I'll keep you posted on what happens next.

All the very best.
