Now that is funny!
February 26, 2008
You must have seen the video by Sarah Silverman before. It was a huge hit on YouTube and it should be. It was 'fucking' hilarious.
Sarah's boyfriend Jimmy Kimmel (a host on US television) always jokes about Matt Damon. So she got him back with this video.
But have you seen Jimmy's reply to that video already? It isn't as funny as Sarah's video, but still its pretty funny and amazing that he got so many people to help on the video.
Check out Jimmy Kimmel's reply here.
Take care.

Doh!
February 24, 2008
Sorry for being slow in posting stuff on my blog. The past week has been really busy and I couldn't find any time until now.
This past week I only had to work 4 days, but they were totally packed! I've been and will continue to be very busy at work - which is only a good sign. On my day off I've not been able to relax a bit as I got a lot of things out of the way.
I've been doing all kinds of household things to get them out of the way. I also had my hair cut (it had become too long) and had an appointment at Optical Express. It has actually now been one month ago that I got laser eye surgery done. So it was a checkup on how I've been doing.
My eyes are doing really well and things are only moving forward now. I still have some heavy headaches from time to time (I think my eyes are still adjusting), but I'll manage.
I've also been to my brothers birthday on Saturday. Saturday the 23rd, the day a Dutch TV Station hoped to shock the world by broadcasting the 70's porno flick Deep Throat. Thankfully it bombed. Not even 1 million Dutch people tuned in. I am really happy with that. Not that I am against porn, but the way that TV Station keeps trying to wow people by shocking them is a bit uncool in my book. Just start making quality tv for a change damnit!
Also got to see the Simpsons movie (finally!) this weekend. It was a much hyped movie and for a change, it was hyped for all the right reasons. I totally loved it! Far better than a lot of overrated hyped blockbusters... I actually found the Arnold Swarzenegger character as a president hilarious. The sentence "I was elected to lead, not to read" got me laughing out loud. Anyway, if you haven't seen it yet - you really should!
Anyway, sorry for being slow in posting. I'll try to work on it.
Take care.

Bo(oh!)Dog Battle of the Bands
February 16, 2008
Hello again! Back from my little trip to Copenhagen, Denmark. What an amazing trip it was. Both in a positive and a negative way.
As you may have read below we were there for the Bodog Battle of the Bands to support the act Fold. The event was a big fake show though!
The winner was made up by the judges and the audience voting. Just imagine this now. There is a big contest in Copenhagen. Many bands have to travel from abroad. Three bands are from Copenhagen and are known bands of the venue it takes place. Imagine the bands from outside Copenhagen to have 20 fans with them at the most. Imagine the bands from Copenhagen to have at least 100 fans in the audience because they don't have to travel from abroad.
Yes, you guessed right! A band from Copenhagen won the event. What an amazing surprise if the audience gets to vote! The way Bodog had organized this event was very poor and the worst thing about my days in Copenhagen. I am totally talking about the organisation, because the bands were pretty cool - if not outstanding. The guy who won was pretty good too, that has to be said - but whether he had won if the event took place on fair soil or without an audience voting...
Anyway, I had an amazing time in Copenhagen and it was good fun to be there with my colleagues. It really builds a stronger team to do these kind of things with colleagues. I think as a team of interactive professionals, thePharmacy has grown closer together over the past week. Great experience!
I hope I get to catch up on some sleep throughout the weekend. Because even though it was great fun in Copenhagen, it really kicks into your system to be awake so many hours a day for a few days.
I will post two typical tourist photos below and one very nice one from the metro to end this post. Hope you like them. Take care and speak soon!

The Mermaid, which is quite a walk to get to from the centre of Copenhagen!

The colored houses represent Copenhagen best, at least thats my opinion.

This was made through the windshield at the back of the metro. Pretty cool hey?!

Spring!
February 11, 2008
Wow, amazing weather today. Almost like spring is on its way! Yet, I still feel its gonna be a bit cold by the end of February or maybe in March.
Today, I got more information on the little trip to Copenhagen. We will fly over there early Wednesday morning(leaving home around 04:30-05:00), arriving in Denmark by 10:00 hr. We will fly back in the afternoon the day after.
The weather over there is colder (around 3 degrees against 15 degrees over here) and the beer is more expensive(a whopping 6 Euros for a beer!). According to Wikipedia the most succesful pop band from Denmark is Aqua (you know, from Barbie Girl). I would have thought it was A-ha (from Take On Me - Eightees stuff), but apparantly A-ha is Norwegian...
There are about 5,5 million Danish inhabitants, they don't pay with the Euro but with Krones, the Danes were also seen as Vikings in the past (together with the Swedes and Norwegians), they won the European Football Championship in 1992 with the great Peter Smeichel and the national anthem is called "Der er et yndigt land".
Anyway, looking forward to the small midweek trip!
Take care.

Copenhagen
February 10, 2008
The past week has passed really slow for me. Because I endured some headaches and my eyes are still adjusting I went to bed early every day this week.
I know I'm present, but it feel as if the past week was nothing but a dream. As if I wasn't totally aware of everything happening. Ah well, I guess I have to wait for everything to be back to normal.
Hopefully I'll be able to fully enjoy and feel Copenhagen this Wednesday and Thursday. Because my employer's band is in the European finale of the Bodog Battle of the Bands, which takes place in Copenhagen, he is taken the whole office there!
I've never been to Copenhagen before, so I hope we get to see a bit of the city. Anyone know anything nice over there which I should definately try to see?
The only downfall to the whole thing is that this Thursday its Valentine's day. So me and Nadine will not get to spend it together... We're probably going out for a nice meal next week to make up for it. And I have to find a new gift... I had bought her something nice, but this weekend she came home with the exact same thing. Bummer!
Anyway, its a busy week ahead so I hope I get to fully enjoy it and feel as if I am going through it. Wouldn't want this week to be a dream...
Take care.

White Carnaval
February 3, 2008
Last week I finally sorted out the issue with my car. On the 3rd of January it was hit by a woman (while my car was parked). Last week the damage was finally fixed.
I didn't get to enjoy looking at my newly painted bumper, because it got covered in snow! Yes, snow! It hardly ever really snows in Holland, but somehow it always does during the carnaval.
Carnaval in Holland isn't like the carnaval in Brazil - we wear more clothes as it is a bit colder. Carnaval over here is just 5 days of drinking, partying and wearing silly clothes.
I also had a checkup on the eyes. Everything is going good so far. I am tired quickly because my eyes are still adjusting to their new potential. But so far the recovery has gone well and I am pleased. In three weeks there's another checkup.
Anyway, I want to end this post with a picture I took while it was snowing. To everyone who is enjoying carnaval - Alaaf!
