Spam

October 28, 2007

A whole while back I had a big problem with the amount of spam I received in my mailbox. After I had taken some action the amount was reduced just last year.

But recently they have found me again. Its all coming in through the Project 79 accounts, but its massive again (about 60 messages every day).

So, this night I've banned all emails coming in from .gov and .edu. Most of the spam is coming through those type of accounts. I hardly ever receive real emails from those accounts, so I have now decided to ban them.

If you are emailing me from such an account - I am sorry, but I hope you understand why I have taken these actions. Please use your Hotmail or Gmail account instead.

All the best and take care.

Another week gone

October 21, 2007

Time flies, doesn't it? Another week (and another weekend) have gone by rather quickly. Its been a busy week, but a reasonable one.

The highlight of the weekend would have to be the finish of the Formula One season. I never ever believed Kimi would get Ferrari the world championship. But he did!

As a Ferrari-fan that has to be the highlight of the weekend.

The rest of the weekend wasn't too bad either. Because Nadine was ill it was a bit more relaxed, taking it easy. Something I really needed actually.

My headaches have been back for a bit now. It probably is stress (as my doctor always explains to me), but still it hurts. I've also got the chest-pain to clarify that it is stress...
Ah well. I guess I'll just have to sit through it for now and focus on the changes at hand...

Talk later and all the best.

The weekend

October 14, 2007

Unfortunately the weekend has passed way too quick once more. Weekends always go faster than the work-week, don't they? Especially when you're having fun.

My weekend started on Friday when my employer ( DHvV ) presented two books and paintings. The books they presented were "Coming Home" by Emile van Dijk and "Jan des Bouvrie". DHvV worked on both these books.

The books were presented in an old bunker from the second World War. In the bunker the walls were decorated with paintings by Antonie de Rooij - painter and one of the founders of DHvV. Within that atmosphere, the books were presented.

Saturday and Sunday we've visited both Nadine and my parents and my grandparents. So, these days were a bit more relaxed - which was nice - because I really needed to clear my head.

Ah well, the weekend has passed too quickly once again...

Take care and talk later.

Keyboard germs

October 9, 2007

Studies have shown that your keyboard and mouse are some of the most germ-ridden devices you own, surpassing even doorknobs and toilet seats.

Answer the 15 questions on this website and find out how many germs live on your keyboard. I think I did rather well actually, just 1,527,960 germs. You'll find out that its easy to score more.

I've tested how many germs you have when you do everything correctly and even then your keyboard contains over 250,000 germs. Ah well, just thought it was a nice link...

Take care.

The weekend

October 7, 2007

This weekend has just gone by way too fast. It was gone before it really even began - or so it feels.

On the Saturday me and Nadine took it easy and finished the day by watching Knocked Up in the cinema. Knocked Up is a nice movie, but I wouldn't call it my favourite new comedy.

The idea behind the movie is really great. One-night-stand ends with pregnancy. Could be really hilarious. For me though, the movie was a bit predictable. You could already see what was about to happen in the next scene. The movie could have also been a bit shorter in time. Some scenes were pretty irrelevant to me.

But lets end the review on a high. I would still give the movie a positive grade. I'd give it a 6.5 out of 10. But I am sure that if you'd ask Nadine she would give it a better grade. Maybe the movie is a little bit of a chick-flick...

Today we celebrated my birthday (2 October) so our place was crowded. I think it was a nice party and I got some great presents, like Fifa 08 for the Wii. Its a difficult game to play on the Wii - but that won't stop me giving it a go.

Anyway, I guess the summary is that it was a busy weekend but a pleasant one. Hope you can say the same.

Take care.

BBC's Radio 1 -Established 1967

October 6, 2007

It has arrived. I had taken a gamble on this one. I found out about this album in a blog a while ago and decided to get it.

That was a major gamble. Why? Because its mostly UK artists (a lot of them unknown to me) and its all covers! 40 of today's greatest artists cover 40 years of hits.

And I think I made a good buy! Its an amazing album. Some tracks are really impressive (KT Tunstall doing Let's Stick Together, The Feeling doing You're So Vain, Keane doing Under Pressure, Robbie Williams doing Lola, James Morrisson doing Come Back and Stay, Mutya Buene doing Fast Car, The Kooks doing All That She Wants and Corinne Bailey Rae doing Steady As She Goes).

Unfortunately there's also a few tracks that I wish I had never heard. Specifically that would be Mika vs Armand van Helden doing The Police's Can't Stand Losing You and even worse than that is The Streets doing Elton John's Your Song. That last one I mentioned is really just horrible.

But in general I think its a great album. Its hits from the past in an updated version by artists of this decade. Really great album to add to your collection!

Take care.

New Bravia commercial

October 5, 2007

Have you seen the new Bravia commercial? Its even better than the previous ones ( Bouncing Balls and Paint ).

I think the latest version, Play-Doh, is just amazing. I think its really great.

It must be a thrill to work on such a project. Not because it is massive, but because you have to be very creative and think up these things. Its also a thrill because every time you have to think of something better and more impressive.

So far, so good I would say!

Take care and have a good weekend!

New setup

October 1, 2007

Hello and welcome to this new setup of my website. The design hasn't changed that much, but the setup behind it has.

The major change is that it is no longer made in Adobe GoLive. GoLive is an old program and it has been overshadowed by Dreamweaver long time ago.

The new setup is PHP-programmed and made in the text-editor UltraEdit. For the first time ever, this website also uses CSS. So its a major change from the old situation for me.

Well, you guys probably wouldn't care about all this. And you shouldn't! But it makes my life so much easier. For me, it makes the website so much easier to maintain.

Alright, let me end this post with a weblink to an amazing game: www.gettheglass.com.

Speak soon, take care.
