The wedding

August 26, 2007

The wedding of my sister Anke and her now husband Han was really good. They couldn't have had a better day!

All week it had been raining heavily, so to see the bright sunlight on Friday was total bliss. They had absolutely brilliant weather.

The day itself was also pretty good. First we had to go and sign the papers in Bladel's city (or village) hall. I signed as a witness. In Holland both the bride and groom have two witnesses who also sign the papers. So after my sister and her husband signed, me and a friend of my sister signed too.

After that we went to our parents home, where a real chef de cuisine made a meal for all invited. The meal was really good. He beats all them no-good TV chefs like Ramsay or his Dutch rip-off Herman den Blijker.

Anyway, after that we all went to a cafe where there was the reception and the party! During the party me and my brother did the quiz and I think it was okay. Some questions went down better than others, but that's only logical.

To summarize: it was a beautiful sunny day and the atmosphere amongst friends and family was incredible. I think it was a fantastic wedding! Oh yeah... Nadine did catch the bouquet...

Take care and talk later.

Wedding

Tomorrow my little sister will get married. So its a day of good fun ahead!

Over the past weeks I've worked on a little something we can show during the party. In Holland its tradition to do something as a joke for the happy couple (and possibly even more for the enjoyment of the guests).

Often this is done through a song or a video. Me, my brother and our parents have gone for something else. Can't say too much about it on the blog because my sister may read it - though she's probably worrying about other things than this blog right now. But think "gameshow", "PowerPoint" and "Photoshopping". I think they're gonna like it.

To make sure the happy couple will still be happy after our "joke", we have a nice surprise for them at the end of our "gameshow". I'm not dropping any hints on that one, other than that I think they're gonna love the present.

Somehow it does feel a bit odd that my younger sister (25) is getting married before me. You'd think it should be the other way around, right? Well, I don't mind too much. I think her boyfriend/soon-to-be-husband is a nice addition to the family. Wonder how long it will take before they start makin' babies...(I bet within the next six months there's more happy news) ; P

Anyway, hope you have a great weekend ahead of you too.

Talk later!

Unfortunately I'm back...

August 19, 2007

How the good times always go too fast. Doesn't the holiday always seem to go twice as fast?

Me and Nadine are back from our holiday in Turkey. We had a blast. It was a good holiday with over 40 degrees Celsius every day!

Turkey is a nice country. Its a bit of a shame though that most of the country seems to be running on the tourism. I haven't met a Turk who didn't speak German too. You can totally feel that tourism takes its toll on the country.

We've also seen some of the rich culture, ancient theatres and temples. Really cool to combine culture with swimming in the pool or sitting on the beach.

Anyways, I'll keep it short because I could write pages and pages about my holiday. I can now prepare to going back to work tomorrow and to my sisters wedding this Friday. Thats gonna rock too.

Talk soon.

Holiday!

August 1, 2007

Yeehaa, its that special time of the year again! The most fantastic time of the year when work doesn't matter. That time we can leave the "it always rains here" Netherlands behind us.

This year we will be travelling to the wonderful Turkey. Its currently pretty hot over there (42 degrees) so I hope it will cool down a little bit or I will come back as a tomato!

Anyway, I'm on holiday from August 3 untill August 18. So during that time this website and blog won't be changin'.

Take care.
