Bad Review: Beekse Bergen
November 19, 2006
Yesterday me and Nadine wanted to take Nadine's nephews Terence and Dylano to the Beekse Bergen, an animal resort in Hilvarenbeek. Especially Terence is crazy about animals.
What a big disappointment the park was...
Obviously it is later in the year, so no doubt some animals don't show themselves that much at this time. But spending about 2,5 hours in the park we had seen some zebra's and rhinos. That's it.
So you can imagine how disappointed Terence was. He wanted to see lions, tigers, monkeys, rhinos, zebras, deer and all kinds of other animals. He got to see 4 or 5 zebras and 2 rhinos. Oh yeah, don't gorget that little kid had to walk 2,5 hours for it.
What a fucking disappointment. They should warn you at the entrance, because then we wouldn't have visited the park. But hey, for them € 13,50 (per person) are income obviously. Yes, that is correct, we paid a total of € 54,- (4 adults, 2 kids) to see 2 type of animals.
So, next time: Amersfoort Zoo, Emmen Zoo, Antwerp Zoo or anything else. What a bloody disappointment this was for the kids. Thanks for that Beekse Bergen.
Take care.
Decision made
November 17, 2006
About a week ago I wrote to you that I was pondering my future after a meeting with my boss and would let him know what I intend to do next.
Well, last Monday I have told him that I am now officially looking for a new fulltime job.
Although I enjoy working at my current boss (eLearning company), and I especially like the people working there, it has become clear that my ambitions and drive are in the communications-field. I have enjoyed doing eLearning a lot, but its just not my cup of tea.
I have also decided what direction I want my career to take. Instead of being a multimedia designer I would like to find a job as a general designer or visualizer. That way I am a designer, but have the cutting edge of also knowing 3D, Animation, Flash and more.
This way I think I am capable of delivering better design for various media. Design has become broader these days than just design for paper products. So my intention is to deliver up-to-date modern design with that cutting edge of today and tomorrow.
So if you know a position somewhere that suits my wishes and goals, don't hesitate to get in touch!
For now, I wish all of you have a great weekend!
All the best and take care.
Election in a week!
November 15, 2006
Next week, next Wednesday to be exact, its time for elections in the Netherlands. With one week to go the mudd slinging and biting has really started.
It won't affect my vote though. I have absolutely no idea who will get my vote. No contestant sticks out for me. All of them are forgetting about the real world. None of them feel what it is like to have a "normal" income. None of them knows what its like to pay 70% of that income only to the energy/gascompany, the taxes, rent and more.
So quite frankly at this point I'd say my vote is lost. I'm thinking (for the first time ever) not to vote. Why? Because its not as if my vote will make a difference. As if these politicians with more than one car and a big house will ever understand the common man...
Anyway, hope you like the updates to the portfolio.
All the best and take care!
Decision time
November 11, 2006
As some of you lot may know, I work part-time at an eLearning company and combine it with my own company Project 79.
After a meeting with my boss a couple of weeks ago I have been thinking about my future and career non-stop.
It's slowly becoming very clear that I need to make a decision on what I want to do with my career. Something I have actually already figured out and am planning to tell my boss next week. I would have told him this week, but he has been very busy - lots of meetings.
Next week is exciting for various reasons actually. I hope to deliver some cool Project 79 works, talk to the boss, talk to other people about it and more. Trust me to be able to tell you by next week what is going to happen... ; )
Too bad I cannot play any instruments - because then the choice would be easy. Music is a big passion of mine, so that would have been cool. If only I hadn't sold that guitar...
There's two albums that will definately be on my wishlist for Christmas: Moby's "Go - The Greatest Hits" and FatBoy Slim's "Why Try Harder". Excellent that two of my favourite artists are both coming with a greatest hits album!
Anyway, hope you all have a great weekend!
All the best.
I'm back!
November 6, 2006
Alright, it looks as if I haven't been online for some time. True. My computer decided to crash, first time I ever experienced that.
The hard-drive and feeding had crashed. Luckily for me I am pretty good at making backup DVD's - so I managed to save a lot of information.
Unfortunately I didn't save everything. So if you had send me an email or anything else - I am sorry for not replying. Please send your message again.
Well, the past week without a computer has also put things in perspective for me. I have been thinking about my future. I think its time to direct it into another direction. I think its time for change. Major change. More soon...
For now, take care and all the best.
