Ferrari!

October 26, 2006

Today I have enjoyed a great experience. Today I have been driving a real Ferrari!

A few weeks ago it was a present for my birthday. Because great weather had been expected today, me and Nadine decided to do it today. Although the weather wasn't as sunny as expected, the experience was amazing!

A Ferrari drives really different than my Toyota. The steering and shifting takes more strength, its not as smooth as I had expected. The car drove okay in the city limits, but once we hit the speedway it was amazing! A Ferrari really starts driving at 100 Km/Hr.

Below that speed it drives worse than my own car by far. But once it gets up to speed you can really feel it's a sports car. And because you are really close to the ground (seating is really low - which makes getting in and out of the car an experience on its own!) you really feel the speed.

I've had a great time driving that Ferrari. Some of the many photo's have been added to the photos section of the website. It has been an experience that has meant a lot to me and I have enjoyed every second of it.

Take care.

It just isn't the same

October 22, 2006

Yesterday me and Nadine have been to dinner, the casino and some hotspots in Eindhoven. It had been about a year since I had been in a casino.

In that year something has changed and I don't really liked it. We all know the slot machines, right? You have to throw in a coin and if you win the machine pays in coins. Nothing is sweeter than the sound of all those coins dropping, right?

Well, that's over. The casino we've been to works with EasyPlay cards these days. You transfer an amount of money onto the card and the winnings will automatically be placed on the card by the machine.

To me that has killed the joy of the slot machines. The fun part was to hear all those coins drop into the basket. At least to me. Now the machine just gives a beep and the money is added to the card. No fun at all..

Luckily for me they hadn't changed the rules of the roulette table just yet. We also found a smaller gaming hall in Eindhoven that did still use the coins. Great fun.

Anyway, we had a great time. Hope you're having a great weekend too.

All the best and take care.

Final run

October 20, 2006

As I am a Ferrari-fanatic you could have expected me to write something about the final Formula One race Michael Schumacher will be driving for the team this weekend...

Whenever people hear his name they automatically think of the scenes with Damon Hill, Jacques Villeneuve and others.

I for one would like to think of the success he has brought to Ferrari. Don't forget that Ferrari didn't enjoy much success for 21 years! Their last championship title for drivers dated from 1979 before the German helped build a strong Ferrari team - bringing them much success.

Many have said the past years haven't been great in Formula One. That it had been boring. Well, the final of this season is the best in recent years - with Fernando Alonso (Renault) and Michael still battling it out at the final stage.

There is no doubt in my mind that Alonso will win a deserved second world title. Actually that is irrelevant. As a Ferrari-crazed man I am more afraid of the future of the Ferrari team over the next years. Michael did bring passion, knowledge, guts and success to the team and it will be extremely hard for the next generation of Ferrari drivers to follow in his footsteps. Good luck Kimi!

Anyway, Michael, hope you have a great race and enjoy the life after driving in Formula One. Thanks for bringing success to Ferrari over the past years.

All the best.

Friday the 13th!

October 13, 2006

Aaargh, Friday the 13th! Well, actually I had a great day today. Today everything has gone my way.

I have worked very hard today to finish a first version of a 3D animation for a client. And it worked out well - I got it finished.

This morning I wasn't sure it would all go well. This would have been the day for my computer to crash, my car to explode or whatever. But it turns out Friday the 13th could just be my lucky day. :)

Anyone else out there who has experienced bad luck today?

All the best & take care.

What a week

October 8, 2006

What a week last week has been. Its been busy and hectic. First of all there was my birthday on Monday ofcourse.

Because I had duties for the company where I work part-time, I couldn't really have a party as on Tuesday I have worked for 18 straight hours for them.

Anyway, what I am trying to say is that I've been working a lot the past week, making very long days and travelling a lot. Some of those days were for my part-time employer, some for my own company.

This afternoon I'll be having my birthday party, which will be great after all this work. I think its the perfect ending of a hectic week. I can only hope next week will not be a similar one...

Ah well, once I finish the big project for my own company I'll have more free time and I have all the time in the world to sleep a little... ; )

All the best and take care.

Another year

October 2, 2006

Its that time of the year again. Today I have turned 27 years old. Yep, the 30-number is getting closer and closer...

Its been a great day and I can only hope the party will be even better next weekend, when I'll be having my party.

Obviously I will have a small party tonight, but I'll have to cut it short because my employer wants me to travel a lot tomorrow and I'll have to leave at 05:30 in the morning. I'll probably be back around 23:00...

So that's a big bummer. I'll have to go to bed early tonight to not wake up as some kind of zombie.

Thanx to all of you who have been sending messages today - I appreciate that very much. I am also mighty pleased with my gifts, including driving in a real Ferrari! That'll be cool! Can't wait...

Ah well, for now I'll just make it an early night and dream about driving that Ferrari. Once again: thanx to all for the kinds messages.

All the best.
