Blog August 2006
On the move
August 18, 2006
How quickly things can go... As I mentioned about a week ago me and Nadine had been looking at houses in Den Bosch.
Well, next Thursday or Friday we are probably being handed the key to our own place!!!
So the next two weeks are busy - move, buy stuff, decorate and more of that wicked stuff! I am packing and stacking as we speak. We've still got some stuff to buy and have to sort out some stuff - but as of the first of september I am living in Den Bosch, together with Nadine.
So if you're wondering why this is probably the last blog for August - now you know. I hope to write another entry in the blog on the first of September, from the new place that is!
Talk soon, take care.
CSI, Physio and Den Bosch
August 13, 2006
Alright, your task is to find the link between these items... No, just kidding. Because it has been about a week (sorry, very busy) since my last post, a lot has happened.
First of all, the physio was okay. To be honest at this point I cannot say it helped a bit. Quite the opposite actually. The day after my first physio session my headache was at its worst until now. So whatever that guy did to my neck - it only made things worse I think. I've got two more sessions this week.
If the result is the same I think I'd rather quit doing that physio stuff. My headache was a result of a car crash about a year ago and it never really has gone since. I've tried a lot of things, but nothing seems to help. If you've got a tip to cure a long-lasting headache, be so kind to email it to me.
Then topic number two. Because of all the reality rubbish on the TV for the past year(s) there has been one show that has been outstanding throughout - Crime Scene Investigation. As a plan of me starting to read books again I had bought several books from the book series of the popular TV show. And it works, read 5 books already and looking forward to reading the 3 books I've still got on my shelves.
The final topic is Den Bosch. Me and Nadine are planning a move there so we've been over to Den Bosch in the weekend to check out a house and the city itself. Going over there was a good idea as it has put our ideas in perspective. We now know exactly what we want...
I hope it won't take long before I can put a message on this blog that I have moved to Den Bosch.
Anyway, hope you've all had a great weekend.
Great weekend
August 7, 2006
I hope you have had a good weekend. I sure had. The weekend was great, spending it at Antwerp Zoo and havin' a BBQ on Sunday.
On Saturday me and Nadine have been to the Antwerp Zoo and we were accompanied by my brother and sister (and their lovers) and niece Lisa.
The day started a bit grey but it ended really sunny and we all had a good time at the Zoo. Note it down as a tip for next summer my friends!
On Sunday my parents had organised a BBQ. So the whole family was enjoying the meat prepared by my dad. It was really nice and relaxing to have a BBQ. The weather was good and the food was even better...
Can't wait for next weekend... ; )
Take care and all the best.
Physiotherapy
August 4, 2006
Been to the doc yesterday. As some of you may have read through this blog I am enduring some heavy headaches since a car accident almost one year ago...
My doctor had told me to take relaxing walks and sport more and come back in 6 months to see how I've been doing. Yesterday it was 6 months ago. Nothing much has changed really. Recently the headaches have actually been worse. The doc says its pure stress. Which could be, as I am constantly trying to combine various jobs and projects - which isn't easy I can tell you.
So, had a check-up yesterday. The outcome was that my reflexes, sight and hearing are great. My balance is also great. So nothing wrong in my head. The doc did notice the muscles in my neck are a bit tight.
He asked me to try physio and in particular the cracking of my neck. They will work on my neck and "crack" it. After the cracking the tight feeling should be gone and my neck should feel better. This will hopefully also relieve me of the headaches.
Well, kinda scared. Must be really bad to hear your own neck crack. But hey, at this point anything will do. I am really starting to get annoyed by these bloody headaches... Its giving me a headache...
Its scheduled for next Friday. If I am still alive after the therapy I'll post something on how it was in the blog. If there's no message from next Friday on - the cracking didn't really go to plan... ; )
All the best.
Back at the old office
August 1, 2006
Today I've been back at Hunterskil Howard to work on an update of a CD-ROM on which I worked for them in the past.
Really weird to be back at the old office. A lot has changed since I was sacked by them back in 2005. Noticed a lot of fresh faces. Its a really strange feeling to be back at the office...
On one hand I felt immediately at home because I have worked for them for a little more than 5 years in total. On the other hand I have to be even more professional because I was there on behalf of my own company.
I have also had a brief on a cool new project, but its really to early to say anything about it. All I can say is that its Motion Graphics / 3D work and for an international client...
The other projects at Project 79, my own company, are also becoming bigger and better. One project that I paricularly like is a website (with webshop) for Savona International. On that project I am working together with a gifted friend. I can only hope we do more business in the future.
Its been a long day... but a pleasant one.
All the best.
