Madurodam

July 31, 2006

Hope you lot had a good weekend. My weekend was a bit mixed. Me and Nadine have been to Madurodam, which probably was the highlight of my weekend.

Madurodam is a place where they have made a copy of all important places in Holland, but then in a very small format.

It is really funny to see Schiphol Airport in small, or the Eindhoven trainstation, the Binnenhof in The Hague or the Dam in Amsterdam.

Madurodam has gotta be less funny when you haven't been to the places in real life. Because if you haven't been at those spots for real, how well can you tell the small version nears perfection? Ah well, good day of fun. And if you want to see all of Holland in one day - its your best shot. ; )

All the best.

What a day

July 27, 2006

What a day today was... Blimey! Finally Man Utd has done the right thing and have allowed Ruud van Nistelrooij to leave. What good is a player if you won't select him anyway?

It was the day that Israel decided to call their ridiculous war "justified" because there was no agreement at an international top conference in Rome (meeting was undermined by USA).

Obviously any excuse will do for Israel to continue killing unarmed civilians. Its pretty sick. Especially the fact that the world just watches and no-one is judging Israel. Finally there's some real terrorists and Bushy is nowhere to be seen, but behind the back of the terrorists... Strange...

Mr Landis, the winner of the Tour de France, will also look back to this day in awe. I kinda expected he would be the dope-dude this time. The way he came back from stage 16 was almost impossible.

What a day. What a world.

Busy and tropical

July 21, 2006

So, first week back to work after my break. A busy week I might add. And a hot one!

The temperature over here has been really high (as in rest of Europe). We definately can't complain about a bad summer. The Netherlands is currently in its second heat-wave for 2006 and it doesn't seem to end soon!

But as I mentioned it was a busy week. I am definately used to work again. I have worked on some study material for a Dutch educational institution, been back at my former boss to do an update of a CD-ROM I had once made for them and I've been busy on other projects too.

I combined working back at the old office with a lunch with a friend I hadn't seen for quite some time. Since I got the chop at Hunterskil Howard I have actually not been back to Eindhoven that often. So it was good to catch up.

Anyway, a warm weekend lies before us. Hope you take the time to enjoy some of that sun and the amazing summer of '06! You can count on me to do the same. ; )

All the best and take care.

Holiday

July 17, 2006

Hello again! I'm back from my holiday to Mallorca. Had a fantastic time over there, very sunny and good fun!

We've been on a jeep safari through some rough land, been to a dinershow, seen classic concerts under ground and have enjoyed a waterpark and obviously the beach!

It does feel a bit strange though, coming back from a holiday. I opened the paper this morning and found out a lot of nasty stuff is happening around the globe - obviously the main focus being Israel's war.

It feels a bit strange to come back from a holiday and the first thing you see on the front page is a small kid throwing a rock to a heavily armed Israeli gunman. That kid will probably never even know what a holiday is. That kid will probably never enjoy the things I am able to enjoy.

On a personal note I think the actions by Israel are simply ridiculous. They aim to attack Hezbollah. Fine, whatever. But they must know Hezbollah will hide in caves. Its the common man who lives and works in the places and buildings Israel attacks. And somehow every-fucking-politician (Bush leading the idiots) thinks its okay what Israel is doing...

Back to my story. Its really strange to come back from a holiday and to see all the hurt (tsunami) and stupid wars going on. Some people will never enjoy a great holiday like the one I just had. Some will live in fear for the rest of their lives. It makes me feel spoiled to have enjoyed a holiday. But it also makes me feel I should make the most of my life. Simply because I have the option to do so...

Take care...

Out of Office

July 6 - 16, 2006

I will be enjoying a (deserved) holiday to Mallorca from July 6 till 16.

If you are emailing me through this website or the Project 79 website I will try to respond a.s.a.p. from July 17.

All the best and kind regards.

What a relief

July 4, 2006

As I mentioned before on this website I was quite nervous to go back to Hunterskil Howard today. I worked there for 5 years before they no longer needed my services.

Now they needed my services to work on an update of a CD-ROM. I have been over there to talk the project through.

I was very much afraid of angry looks or anything like that. But my precautional thoughts were very wrong indeed. I've seen a lot of familiar faces and felt at home.

That's a good thing for me, because I'll be back at Hunterskil Howard end of July to work on that CD-ROM update. Always better fun when you're feeling okay somewhere you get to work - even if it is for two days.

I also know they're working with other people on all their new multimedia stuff so I know this will be my last chance to make another impact at the company. But this time on my own terms - this time as Project 79!

Looking forward to working there two more days. I just gotta try and make sure I spend my time wisely and not spend it by catching up with everyone I still know over there...

All the best.

Just a couple of days to go...

July 2, 2006

With the weekend almost behind us, its just gonna take a few more days of hard work before I can really enjoy a holiday.

The Monday will be relaxed, on Tuesday I'll be back over to my former employer Hunterskil Howard, because they need some help on a CD-ROM update. Bit nervous about walking back in there actually...

On Wednesday there should be a visit from a mechanic of UPC. Yes, its that time again - I've been offline for a couple of days. The internet provider has once again been very dissappointing in its service. But they swear this time the trouble will be sorted.

But then, on Thursday, its time for my holiday!!! Yeeha! I'll be off from July 6 till July 16 - so don't expect any updates to the blog and website during this time.

All the best.

Tour de Farce

July 1, 2006

I guess Lance Armstrong is really dissappointed at not being at the Tour de France this year. With all the tour-favourites being ruled out (they are linked to some dope professor in Spain) he would have had every option to take another win - easily.

After the reign Lance had over the Tour the past years the Tour had become a bit dull.

That's exactly what everyone must have thought, so this year they managed to make it a big event before it had even started! I was ready for an exciting Tour for a change. And I guess it will be exciting - with all the favourites out who knows who's gonna take the win?!

Dissappointing.
