New books, new look
October 27, 2005
Friends of ED has really launched the new Foundation series now. Take a look at their website to check it out.
If you appreciate the new cover designs (made by me) then be sure to check this blog regularly as I've been interviewed by Molly Joss, a contributing editor for Creative Pro - an online magazine.
The interview will feature a tutorial that shows how the covers were made and I will answers questions like how long it took to create the designs. I'll post the link in the blog as soon as it appears on the Creative Pro website.
Anyway, talk soon and have a good weekend!
Great weekend
October 23, 2005
It has been a great weekend. Nadine and me have been swimming, made an autumn-walk through the forest and more.
Besides putting this new entry on the blog I've also added 2 new projects to the portfolio. One is a visual with model Esther, the other is another cover from the Foundation series.
By the way, I will soon be doing an interview on the new design for the Foundation series. Expect a link on this website once its out there...
All the best, take care.
Hooked!
October 16, 2005
A couple of weeks ago I received a new mobile phone after lengthening my contract at T-Mobile. No big deal about that. But here's the thing: I am the kind of guy who always found all functions (besides text messaging and calling) to be ridiculous and unnecessary.
But now I have to give in. I am hooked! On my new mobile phone there's this game called "Golf Tour" and I shamefully admit: I am hooked...
If there are no new messages
October 12, 2005
Just a quicky to explain in advance that if you don't spot any recent messages on the blog that would be because I am still extremely busy. But with this post I also want to give a promise that I will update at least every Sunday.
I'm currently working on more covers for the Foundation series by friends of ED. I'm glad the new covers are being appreciated, especially when its by one of the authors!
There's more on the planning, like a website for one of the Project 79 clients. But I'll post more (like news about an interesting interview I'll be doing) when I think its the right time to post something - and clients agree. ; )
Busy Friday
October 7, 2005
Today has been a very hectic day for me. Covers I've made for two more Foundation books (Actionscript Animation, Flash 8) have been released on www.friendsofed.com.
I have also been working on two new covers for this book series today. Keep checking the friends of ED site for more!
On top of that - a Flash animation I made for the website www.jonkergouw.com has been placed online. I've also done the initial webdesign for this refreshed website.
Anyway, more to tell - but I'll leave it at this.
26
October 2, 2005
Today it was that time of the year again. It was the 26th time it happened in my life - in other words: I turned 26.
Twenty-six really doesn't have anything spectacular about it, does it? When you're turning 30 people tend to make terrible jokes about it. These jokes get worse at 40 and even worse at 50...
But 26 is just another year in that sense. Nothing spectacular. Non the less I enjoyed my day and am starting to prepare for the terrible jokes that are coming closer...
Take care and have a nice National Day China!
Autumn and chestnuts
October 1, 2005
The first signs of autumn have reached The Netherlands. Leaves are starting to turn into all kinds of beautiful colors.
Personally I think autumn is the most interesting season and I like walking or biking through the woods at this time of the year. It is so colorful, refreshing and brings all kinds of neat stuff with it.
Such as chestnuts. Todat me and Nadine have collected a few from the forest. We wanted to see whether they have already been falling down. They have and tasted great. The majority will come down the coming two weeks - so I think I'll be back in the forest a bit more the coming weeks...
All the best.
