Busy

June 28, 2005

I know I put a lot of Project 79 news on this site lately, but pardon me that it is a lot on my mind these past months..

Things are still going great. This month was a good one and next month looks to be another good one. I will be producing a website, possibly 2 DVD's, possibly some covers and a few 3D things.

Actually I expected to be out of business by now, but I am getting better and better at this own business thing. I am liking it more and more every day!

Yeeha! Take care and talk later.

New bike

June 20, 2005

I bought myself a new mountainbike and took it for a test-run near my house. Reason for buying the bike is that I haven't sported that much recently because I am quite busy at and with Project 79.

So to give myself a sports-break from time to time (and to get away from my desk a bit more) I bought this new bike.

The woods near my house are excellent training ground.
Take care and keep on rolling...

3D Animation for documentary

June 14, 2005

Last week I have delivered a 3D animation for a documentary that should be hitting cinemas end of this year, possibly at the beginning of 2006.

As the documentary is currently being edited and such I can't really say much more about it except that it was quite an experience.

Every project teaches me something, this one featured some 3D effects I hadn't done before. I'll keep you informed about possible screenings or DVD releases and such.

All the best.

Philips EP CD-ROM

June 8, 2005

There was a little surprise with the mail today, the final version of the Philips EP CD-ROM. Project 79 (my own company) programmed and designed the presentation on the CD-ROM.

Everytime I see a final product I feel a little proud, but with this one that feeling is even better. I guess that's because this project has been running for almost a year.

Take care.

Eindhoven aan de Haal

June 4, 2005

Today I've been to the event in Eindhoven for which I made some materials, such as the poster. I had never before made a poster for an event, so it was really funny to see my work presented on the windows of the shops in Eindhoven.

The event itself was really nice, even though the weather was a bit strange. It was sunny one minute and raining the next.

Today I will cast my vote: NO!

June 1, 2005

You may have followed the news lately. Some countries in Europe are voting for or against this European Constitution thing. I will shortly cast my vote and I am not ashamed or held back to let you know I will put down a big fat NO!

Don't think I am another voter who doesn't know what he is talking about, I have read all the documentation and am very informed about this new idea about an ideal European Constitution.

Quite frankly I think these grey men in Brussels are robbing the youth of a fair chance.

I am voting against the Constitution because the European Constitution backs companies wanting to move abroad (because that is cheaper) and wanting to sack its (expensive) staff. Actually this is a consequence of the highly overrated Euro.

The Euro currency has brought many problems to our country. Services and products have doubled in price, yet salaries haven't. This has already caused many problems for people with mortgages and stuff. Or in my case, because I was sacked just when I wanted to buy a house, it means there's no chance to build a future.

Actually many young talents have already turned their back on their country. I can't blame them, the grey people in Brussels and The Hague have killed all opportunities for young people. Instead, we allow thousands and thousands of Poles and other Eastern European people to come over here and do the work cheap.

The European Constitution will make sure there is no future for many people in my country. Foreigners will be working over here while the Dutch people will sit at home, unemployed because they are told to be too expensive. All of this is something I cannot live with and therefor I will cast a big fat NO!

Also the fact that my government used 3.5 million Euros of the tax money to produce commercials, ads, posters and much more worthless materials, just to pressure the Dutch to vote yes has made sure I will put down a NO! Democracy? Where is the democracy if the government puts pressure on a yes vote?

Oh yeah, and then our Prime Minister says: "We'll look stupid and won't be respected in Europe if we say NO!" Right, well, Mr JP Balkenende should maybe take a long look in the mirror and tell me he doesn't look stupid or is respected in Europe...
